
Agrobanka originates from "Privilegovana agrarna banka" (Privileged Agricultural Bank) founded in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in 1929, operating until the beginning of the World War II. The immediate post-war period was a period of constant social changes in Yugoslavia and the rest of the world, which affected the organization, status and business operations of Agrobanka.
Present
Today, Agrobanka is an open joint stock company and one of the medium-range banks. As an universal bank it is capable of providing all banking services envisaged by the Law on Banks of the Republic of Serbia.
Agrobanka has a well-developed business network covering the entire territory of Serbia: 151 organizational units – 17 branches, 108 sub-branches, and 26 counters. It employs over 862 highly professional employees, over 40% of which have university or college degrees. Within its own educational centre, Agrobanka's personnel are constantly receiving advanced training.
Agrobanka is a member of the International Agricultural Credit Confederation - CICA (Confederation Internationale Du Credit Agricole) – Zurich, as well as the Banking Association for Central and Eastern Europe (BACEE), and as a member of SWIFT, Agrobanka effects international payments via its own address. Introduction of e-banking enables a client to be in contact with Agrobanka for 24 hours a day, i.e. all 365 days, during a year.
Future
Agrobanka sees its future in constant expansion, increasing market share, and achieving positive financial results. Priority will be given to the efforts permitting the Bank to achieve a competitive position in the market, such as: clearly defined and modern bank profile, small and medium enterprises development support, initiation of big investment projects in all sectors of industry and agriculture, agriculture and rural infrastructure development support, intensifying the cooperation with foreign banks and financial institutions, investment banking development, and further improvement of IT support and personnel.
By achieving this goals, Agrobanka aims to become the leader in the finance market in corporate and agriculture sectors.
